Ex Libris Contract

@John Wenzler (Unlicensed)

John and Brandon worked with ExL on the contract negotiation. Contract has been renewed for one additional year with 0% increase.
One of the stumbling blocks was related to the number of named users: the contract allowed for 1600 and we had over 2000. Another issue was the limit of bib records - the negotiated limit was 24M and we had over 30M. Then new contract now allows fro 32M bib records (network zone records are also included in this count). We will monitor these metrics in the coming year and be prepared for next year’s negotiation.

Extending CSU due dates

@John Wenzler (Unlicensed) @Jamie Lamberti (Unlicensed) @Natalya Magazino (Unlicensed)

The group expressed concerns about extending due dates to Jan. 31 for all campuses. There was concern that the due date extension will be confusing to users as they may consider that the extension applies to ILL items as well. The group suggested to stop billing and replacement calculating to Jan 31, but the group feels that the due dates should be decided by each campus for local holdings. For CSU+, it was suggested that each borrowing library can extend the due dates to Jan. 31 for their own patrons if so desired. No campus will require books checked out by patrons at another campus to be returned before Jan 31.

1:30-1:40

Update on Rapido & Primo VE

@brandon dudley (Unlicensed)

These are two initiatives going on right now. We are development partners with ExL on Rapido and it is expected that the development effort will wind down this fall. We need to decide if we will become production partners and go live (for a discount). A presentation will be made to COLD and Resource Sharing before a decision will be made. Primo VE is another discovery product and ExL offers a self-implementation process, but it is not ready for consortia yet. It is anticipated that we will be testing the consortia version in Dec. or Jan. 2021. Testing will be done for 5-6 months to allow for a summer implementation. Going live with Rapido requires Primo EV implementation.

1:40-2:00

Ex Libris Satisfaction Survey

@brandon dudley (Unlicensed)

Last year a survey of COLD, ULMS Chairs and staff was conducted to assess the level of satisfaction before contract negotiations. Since we will renegotiate the contract in a year, it will be useful to repeat the survey. @brandon dudley (Unlicensed) will work with the committee chairs to put together another survey.

2:00-2:30

Announcements & Campus updates

All

Updates on Functional Committee Goals and Activities - None, but going forward, chairs are asked to submit reports ahead of the monthly meeting. Committee chairs to share meeting schedules via Google doc (@John Wenzler (Unlicensed) to set up).
