CO Check In Call Fulfillment Issues

Reserves Documentation: Cathe was working on it in the past and put a draft in the Team Drive. She will review and update if necessary, then ask for feedback from CR staff.

Calendar and booking not up to snuff: Matthew uses booking functionality for faculty to ensure they’ll have a DVD available when they need to show it to a class. This is working well and will be added as a demo at the next open forum. Ask Chico for more info on what they might need from this function. Is it room booking, which Alma is not really designed to handle.

Inconsistent application of fines and fees: We could set up zoom session with FFC members to see if it is a TOU config issue. 

Letters configuration: Everybody wants to do more with letters. Maybe we can put up examples of relevant examples and how to create them. Letters seem to be ad hoc and a letters toolkit would be helpful. Would also be nice to have consistent letters accross the CSUs. We will put this project on the FFC roadmap.

Inventory functionality doesn’t work: Doesn’t work for temporary book locations, only permanent. Matthew has had difficulties with the Range option, not the set option. Remind of documentation and recording of to use Purdue’s shelf reporting application. On Confluence: Shelf Reading and Inventory Report . Would like more specifics from this campus on what exactly is not working.

Creating an easy, automated way to make pick from shelf slips: More possibilities for print slips is needed. Not just tiny squares or wasteful 1-2 page printouts. Want pull slips you can use to locate the item in the stacks and then put in the book. Something like we have for CSU+. Want student assistants to be able to print them up. Matthew will reach out to Alma L to see if there has been work done in this area.

Creating new location that only circulates locally: They reached out to Mallory who will work with them on this.

Lost and paid issue: Jamie confirmed with ExL that this is functioning as expected. Report can be put together to show when credit is issued to patrons account. Cathe will move Jamie's documentation to the wiki and reach out to Natasha on report if that is not included in Jamie's workflow. Reference the ExL ticket number in the documentation.

Lots of clicks to see whole picture of patron’s transactions: Have that campus submit an enhancement request to the Idea Exchange. Be specific on what they want.

Creating training courses for workers at circ desk: Natasha is working this for her campus. It’s a large project that is being developed. Once complete, she will make a plan for sharing, e.g. Open Forum, wiki, ELUNA.

  • What is the ultimate goal for reserves questions? Is item usage too limiting an idea? Is 100% item usage all of the time a good metric?
  • Matthew’s analogy of freeway usage is interesting way to evaluate Course Reserves: How best to maximize efficiencies within limits/bounds of infrastructure.
  • Where do we go next with this document?
    • Talk to targeted Course Reserves people with list of questions.
    • Mallory and Matthew to come up with plan–perhaps zoom session to speak with CR staff.

Alma Enhancement Voting Round One

  • Cathe will set up a meeting this week for FFC to make recommendations on enhancements related to Fulfillment.
  • Recommendations will be shared by Monday, 4/18 as votes are due 4/13.
