Cathe is waiting to hear from Carlos Rodriguez. Steering committee meets this Friday and hope to get an update then.
Open Forum Agenda
The next Open Forum is on Tuesday, September 25th from 11am – 12pm.
Agenda:
Introducing new member, and rest of committee. Who we are, where we’re at and what we do.
Alma demo: Kevin will do demo of Alma shelf report. Custom shelf reading reports gives specific visual representation. Makes it really easy to find items out of order. Report can also double check item policy on items scanned.
Analytics demo: Show analytics report – Christine Evans (Fresno) and Mallory DeBartolo (Chancellor’s Office) - Create list of patrons that had fines accrued after a specific date. Summer training didn’t catch all fines. Mallory and Christine can demo Patrons who owe after a certain date. Will just show ID numbers to avoid showing identifiable information.
Remind everybody that there are unverified/verified reports found in the shared folder that can be accessed and run on your institution in analytics. Fine Analytic Report from Mallory and Christine will be placed here. Pathway is: /shared/Community/Reports/Institutions/CalState/Fulfillment.
FFC Goals. Ask for ideas from open forum members. Combine goals and functional training. Let us know that if you have ideas of things we should be working on.
Reminder to fill out the Alma Fulfillment comment form, found on confluence, if they have any comments/suggestions on anything they think of outside of the meeting.
Cathe will send agenda out to the listserv the week prior to the open forum.
We will try to finish up the first section "Student success in the context of the library." Include articles even if they don’t show causal links. Weave in information into document and don’t just send Mallory articles. Goal: take next two weeks (until our next committee meeting on Oct. 2nd) to blend information gleaned from articles into document. Cathe and Natasha can shape first section of document. Encouraged to add interesting information into document as its found.
Mallory encouraged all on FFC to read entire document and see if you agree and can stand behind what is being said, and if not offer suggestions feedback, etc. as this will be presented as coming from our whole group.
What’s going well? What’s making you crazy?
Natasha annoyed that statistical categories are not showing up for some loans in analytical reporting. Did anonymization cause this, or was it due to having statistical categories input later. She will file a Salesforce case.
Is everybody anonymizing? Useful data vs. privacy. Cathe, Jamie, Kevin mentioned that they weren’t anonymizing yet and it was something they were working on.
Natasha said that perhaps the group can come up with recommendations/best practices for anonymization and Cathe added this to the year's goals.
It was also asked if anyone has customized their letters using If/When statements. Natasha will provide examples to the group and we put this on the list for possible future training/demo.
