RSFC / FFC Joint Open Forum Part 2

  • Configuring different libraries will need its own presentation since there is a lot that has to be done for it to be functioning

  • Notices could be its own presentation if people need/want more info

  • Eventually we can link to our own documentation created for each configuration

  • Turn on requesting in Alma/Primo is already covered in Re-Open Forum Part 1 (Natalya working on documentation?)

  • Define/adjust Time to Reshelve

    • Jamie is working on demo and instruction 

  • Notice for locker pickup

    • Email separately with code (not using Alma notice) 

    • Kim can write something for the wiki on locker configuration 

Reopening Discussions



  • Time to Reshelve

    • “Awaiting reshelving until date & hour” note will be on items in Alma 

    • Does not block item from being requested 

    • Message in Primo can be changed to indicate status such as “item is being quarantined”  

  • When to quarantine? Before or after checking items in? 

    • Check in first

      • Check all items in when they are returned

      • Use Time to Reshelve function for quarantine period 

    • Check in after 

      • Quarantine items for min. 72 hours before checking in

      • Minimizes the amount of times a possibly infected item is touching other equipment 

      • Can reshelve immediately after checking items in? 

  • Advertise delays in processing on webpage 

  • Suggestions for reopening/staffing 

    • Libraries not open to public 

    • Libraries open during semester (Stanislaus) 

      • Patrons can browse the stacks and pull the books they want

      • Staff will check items out to them in person 

  • Next meeting: discuss how to check out items safely when we allow patrons into the building 

  • Q&A in open forum: discuss check out procedures for in-person transactions

  • Create FFC google account for shared drive 

  • Transfer current drive to FFC drive 

  • Re-organize content 

FFC Slack



  • Can be used for quick communication rather than email 

  • Jamie will share FFC slack invite
