Accessibility formatting concerns

Elizabeth Altman

Recent lawsuit against the LA community college district - need to be aware of accessibility issues. How are we watching out for this with the repo?

Each campus has different levels of accessibility. Do we have a policy system-wide about this?

CSUN is working to systematize this work.

UC Berkeley Remediation on demand policy: will make things accessible upon request.

Perhaps we need CSU-wide training for accessibility formatting?

Should there be a statement about accessibility on ScholarWorks?

What would the ATI (Assistive Technology Initiatives) offices propose for wording?

VPAT and accessibility statement in the works. We had a task force start working on this last summer, and have the VPAT almost complete.

Digital archives group: pretty much everything is an act of remediation at this point. It’s incredibly messy and difficult.

Notch8 contract and enhancement requests

@David Walker

Not much has happened. RFP is complete. Intent to award the contract to Notch8.

Asked for timelines around development tasks.

Blanket set of “unallocated time” for support tasks. Could include emergency situations, bug fixes, minor enhancement requests. Could also amend to contract to include more tasks.

With this group and the PM group: we should start to work on another list of feature tasks to be done.

Contract starts in February and is a 3 year contract.

Q: How does someone put in an enhancement request?

A: Just let Dave and Kevin know. They will bring the list to this group for priority ranking, when needed.

  3. Rights URI

  4. Metadata reconciliation – Sonoma, SFSU, Channel Islands

Other issues/concerns, please email Elyse.
