Announcements

All

  • January 3rd meeting: should we cancel or reschedule?

  • Skip the January meeting, meet again in February

  • Open forum will be scheduled in mid-January (address timelines for digital archives and profiles projects)

Review DAWG charge

Eric

  • Eric to make a few minor edits and finalize the Charge

  • Mention this as complete in the year-end DAWG report

Custom campus forms

David

  • New customization now gives us more flexibility in the forms.

  • Based on any attribute of the user

    • Campus

    • Role (manager)

    • Other (student, faculty, etc.)

  • Allows different versions of a form

    • by campus, role, etc.

    • Fields

    • Controlled vocabularies

    • Labels? (not sure)

  • And control over which forms a user can see

  • Can have a message area at the top of the form for specific campuses

  • How best to use this?

    • just to address edge cases?

    • more broadly?

    • Flexibility / Uniformity are mixed blessings.

  • Discussion:

    • The more form fields that are present, the more difficult migrations become

    • How much time will customized forms take? Maybe spend resources on DAMS development instead of fiddling with IR.

    • Amount of time to build/manage/maintain these depends on number of customized forms and their complexity; so it varies

    • Maybe instead of customization, have campuses use a “notes” field for other data

    • Have the working group host an open forum to discuss.

    • If we have campuses vote on this, each campus should only get one vote

Annual meeting planning

Carmen

  • June 1-2, 2022 (virtual)

  • Thematic streams (Ex, How our work impacts student success)

  • Broad call for papers with some highlighted themes

  • Reach out to Planning committee and get some meetings scheduled to discuss further

  • Include ScholComm committee on this
