 Action items

Clean up work form edit request form
Follow up with Dave on work form edits
  • Resource type – where is that pulling from? Can we remove and use established type/medium fields listed below? Does it feed any labels or facets that are important?

  • Subject/name headings – does the user have to input all the information (correctly) for every heading (Name, role, URI)? Or can the system validate on a scheduled basis and/or when the form is submitted?

  • Change Abstract/summary label to Description

  • Location = try to find an alternative location field for published/place of origin (as opposed to locations that are the subject of the work); use the publisher field?

  • Source:

    • Suggested definition/guidelines from Sac State:

      • Definition: The source material(s) from which the digital object is derived from in part or in whole.

      • Guidelines: Recommended best practice is to identify the related resource by means of a string conforming to a formal identification system.

When recording a non-library identification number, qualify the identification number with the source of the value.

For Archival materials, source may include accession number or physical location
