Review Digital Collections Development Plan with David and Kevin

  • Walk through of DAMS Development Plan for Digital Collections.

  • Review ULMS Plan as template which includes risks, assumptions and constraints. Add these to plan.

  • Gather campus local workflow information on digitization practices and metadata schema applications. This will expedite the initiation of local metadata cleanup in advance of migrations and the production of shared workflows such as the metadata application profile. Campus self-assessments can be used to gather this local data..

  • Inspired by DAM Maturity Model (Spreadsheet)

  • Helps both individual campuses and provides an overall assessment of needs across entire system.

  • Will include in the assessment form data required for producing shared digitization practices and metadata applications.

  • ZOOM meetings with individual campuses to guide through evaluation tool.

Introduce test server project

  • CSUN, CPP, CSUCI to create test servers. CSUSM now trying to work toward a test installation.

  • Focused only on Samvera/Hyrax 2.6.

  • Consider installing through virtual machines if no dedicated IT or other Tech support. Alyssa considering Reclaim Hosting.

  • Share code base among test installations and leverage other work of Notch 8 for test environments.

  • Consider advantages and disadvantages of consistent module integration and configurations for all systems. Do we want to take this opportunity to have selected differences in system configurations in order to best assess performance?

  • New members will consider which projects to commit their time

  • Meetings will continue to be held on the second Monday of the month at 1 pm.

  • Meetings will continue at a minimum of 1 meeting per month. Will consider ad hoc meetings as needed in order to expedite task completion.

  • Will continue to use Confluence as primary project management app, but will consider others such as Trello, should the need arise. Will also look into how lesser known Confluence management applications could be applied.
