Portfolio loader limitions and incompatibility with KBART

Top three ERM issues to work with Ex Libris on

For each issue, Brandon will create a SalesForce case and add your email addresses to the case. Ex Libris’ directions are below – the important aspects are the describe the issue in an easy-to-understand way, include the impact of the issue on the CSU and to offer concrete examples as you can. I have put this to other committees as “instead of saying ‘CDI sucks’, say ‘CDI sucks for X and Y reasons. X should work like so, Y should work like so’.” and that sort of thing.

Your next steps will be to write up your top three issues reflecting the above and send those to me. I will create the case for each and let ExL know when done. They will work on the issues for a week or two and then will want to meet with you and your committee about potential solutions and similar.

We would like the committee to identify the top 3 issues/pain point. These might include workflows/parts of Alma/Primo:

  • you feel cause the most inefficiencies

  • that are most annoying to your users

  • that prevent you from achieving your goals/targets

Alma and Primo staff from EXL Product Management and R&D teams will work with you in order to understand these issues and provide solutions.

Each issue/pain point should have a SalesForce case, including detailed description of the related scenario(s) and business impact.

It also should be a specific issue and not a general one (for example: report XYZ is running slow as opposed to – many reports are running slow).

We will need to get the list of pain points/issues about a week before the call in order to allow us to prepare for the call.

  1. Metadata issues - even when set up as suggested by ExLibris we experience Full-text available records leading to no full-text error messages. MB generates salesforce tickets often.
-Our inability to address metadata errors in CDI records

    Possible other items:
reload collection portolios by EL make portfolios unavailable

CDI Indexing updates taking longer than desired

Avoiding Rapid Burnout in New Hires: Importance of Onboarding Support for Employees at all Experience Levels
PI: Michaela Keating

Participant Recruitment email
Dear Colleagues,
We are conducting research on the relationship between new hire onboarding and support and the symptoms of workplace burnout experienced by individuals who are new to their position. Librarians of any stage of their career, who have started a new position in an academic library in the last 3 years, are invited to participate. Our brief and anonymous survey takes approximately 3-5 minutes to complete.

Participants will have the opportunity to volunteer for a follow-up interview with the principal investigators. The results of the survey and interview will contain no identifying information from participants and will be used for scholarly purposes only.

Surveys should be completed by Friday April 2, at 6 PM, with voluntary follow-up interviews to be scheduled between April 5-16.

This research project being conducted by Michaela Keating and Ilda Cardenas, Pollak Library, California State University Fullerton. If you have questions or concerns about our project, please contact Michaela Keating mckeating@fullerton.edu.
