Goals

  • Brandon’s Satisfaction Survey Follow Up: Lets discuss and rank order our Resource Sharing priority issues. I will then bring them to the Steering Committee meeting tomorrow and if we are lucky maybe one of them gets referred to Ex Libris for special attention.

  • CalState Walkin Update: Joe A met with FFC Chair and Vice Chair and will provide an update.

  • CSU+ for Distance Learners? - Joe A has an idea to flag CSU+ requests for Distance Learners. Lets discuss to see if and how it could work.

  • Confluence Space Revamp: We have been sleeping on this idea pretty hard, but Natalya does have something to show. Lets discuss a way to actually move forward with improving our Confluence space.

  • ILLiad API - lender of last resort update: A few more insights from Natalya

  • More RSFC Meetings?: Are we falling behind? Do we need more RSFC meetings?

  • Any other updates on old or new business:

Brandon’s Satisfaction Survey Follow Up:

Tasked to bring 2-3 of our priorities to steering committee to get them referred to Ex Libris. The following are ideas generated by the committee. One potential priority is discovery of unavailable/unloanable vis CSU+ items. Leading to many auto-cancellations for patrons CSU-wide. Seen as a priority by Joe A., Meghann, Natalya, Karla. Issue: real time availability isn’t being checked when patron is submitting the request, Requestability from tou and availability should be required for patron request to go through. Second potential priority: difficulty of customizing email notifications, “letters.” (Joe G). Third issue identified is the workflow surrounding converting hold shelf items to CSU+ requests when own holding is available (Joe G and Meghann). Fourth issue is lack of bib data and call numbers available in alma borrowing reports at IZ (Natalya and Mallory). Fifth issue pick up from anywhere in peer to peer consortia. Sixth issue is with ILLiad borrowing NCIP, regarding workflow that requires ignoring due dates (Joe A.).

2:23-2:30

CalState Walkin

@Joseph Adkins (Unlicensed)

Joe met with FFC Chair and Vice Chair. Agreement proposed is to have 2 best practices recommendation from the libraries to choose from. One best practice option being internal accounts, allowing CSU walkins to make CSU+ requests on their own, the second being the library staff have to submit CSU+ requests on behalf of their patrons. Requires the set up patron data sharing and then the writing of best practice recommendations. Campuses then report which model they are using to help with information sharing.

2:30-2:40

CSU+ for Distance Learners

@Joseph Adkins (Unlicensed)

CSU+ can’t do pick up and return anywhere for items as its not a supported option for peer to peer resource sharing in Alma. How can we support distance learner programs with CSU+? Could we configure to assign users a resource sharing library? A project to consider and work on further.

2:41-2:50

Confluence Space Roadmap

@Natalya Magazino (Unlicensed)

Possibly add a comment form like fulfillment page to keep comments compiled and can help record questions/issues to keep history despite staff turnover.

2:50-3:03

ILLiad API as lender of last resort

@Natalya Magazino (Unlicensed)

Not all requests are successfully converting from Alma to ILLiad and these end up in “ready to be sent” queue. These are manually then being converted into ILLiad. Issues with duplicity as converted request remains as an active request in ILLiad. Started testing embedded ILLiad information into MyAccount in Primo. Moving forward may be bringing this to STIM, inquiring with Dave on centralized options, and documentation from Natalya.

3:03-3:11

What are UCs charging CSUs?

@Meghann Brenneman (Unlicensed)

Reported back on this inquiry and found only 4 of UCs are still charging CSUs. This can inform conversations moving forward.

3:11-3:14

scheduling more meetings

scheduling more meetings when all are available based on workload and meeting running over
