Goals

  • Announcements from ULMS Steering Committee

-COLD says to be ready to send back books checked out at other CSUs. I asked if this meant that COLD wanted us to advertise the service. They didn’t know and will check in with COLD. Any thoughts?

-Committee membership: past and expiring members should be encouraged to volunteer. Less weight was put on experience in the past but now is more important. But still a consideration for broad campus representation on ULMS Committees. People completing their first year can volunteer to be vice-chair and then they get an extra year of duty. Idea to do a recruitment drive type thing on the next CSU+ You:).

-Brandon has an idea for a virtual CSU/Cal RUG meeting for this summer. Details at this point are very limited. ELUNA was cancelled so Brandon thinks he can get presenters from that for the CSU/CAL RUG meeting. He didn’t explain whether or not ULMS functional committees would be expected to provide any programming or if he will provide all programming by recruiting ringers from ELUNA.

  • Confluence Survey - Natalya has an update.

  • Continutity planning: member roles (hats), task forces, etc) -Natalya has an idea. Can maybe tie in with RSFC recruitment drive.

  • Ongoing projects - where are we at and where are we going?

  • Any old or new business RSFC members want to discuss: If you have something, feel free to type it in here before the meeting. Or just bring the item to the meeting and we can make time for it.

Steering Committee Meeting Items: Courtesy Retunrs

@Joseph Adkins (Unlicensed)

COLD wants folks to be aware and ready for items to be returned to not home or owning libraries (CSU+ and otherwise) and to perform courtesy returns for these items.

CSU summer classes are expected to be online.

10:09-10:16

Steering Committee Meeting Items: Committee membership

Recruitment period in May and nominations come through the deans, connect with deans to advocate your interest in being on the committee. Previous members and new interested folks alike are encouraged to volunteer. The emphasis is representation of all of the CSUs across the committees. One can self nominate to be vice chair to Natalya’s chair next year though being vice chair makes you chair the following year.

10:16-10:21

Steering Committee Meeting Items: ULMS Summer Meeting

A face to face meeting will not happen but there is interest in making a virtual CA Alma usergroup meeting. With interest in bringing in folks who were going to present at ELUNA. Keep an ear out for more details from Brandon.

10:21-10:28

Confluence Survey

@Natalya Magazino

Survey is ready to go out via Qualtrics platform to get feedback from community on improving the CSU RS confluence pages.

10:28-10:30

Continuity Planning

Passing the hat by documenting ongoing projects when our committee turns over in July. Projects like: rota project, loan periods, UC courier, etc.

10:30-10:38

UC courier project

It looks like we could continue with analytics and conversations for this project in remote environment. A proposal could be drafted and data could be looked at.

10:38-10:44

10:50-10:57

Loan periods project

Analytics could be run to keep working on this project remotely and a proposal could be put together. Can meet with Christine from steering committee in collaborative work on the proposal. Data shows that policy is affecting patron behavior.

Look at loss rate for different loan periods at each of the CSUs on RSFC.

10:44-10:45

Visiting patrons

Joe believes it could possibly be finished soon.

10:47-10:50

Sandbox testing

Committee should verify that this is working correctly before Mallory leaves. The sandbox could then be helpful for the community for their various testing adventures. Testing should include end to end functionality, due dates, notifications. Will meet and work on this again.

10:57-10:58

Lender Check in action

After announcing this in I-SPIE tv folks haven’t shared any feedback on going forward with this workflow change.

Action items

sandbox testing in next meeting or set up a meeting specifically for it
