Goals
Libraries re-opening? - COLD established a library-reopening task force. Mallory sent an email this week asking about how RSFC (and FFC) can contribute to the re-opening plans. Corey sent an email this week asking about courtesy return best practices (once libraries re-open). So it looks like there are 2 tracks to re-opening: potential CSU wide re-opening policies (safe book handling, book quarantine length etc.) that would come from COLD task force and best practices (ILLiad courtesy returns is the current use case), minutia that COLD would be less interested in. Let’s discuss potential library re-openings in depth and see what we come up with.
Rigorous Sandbox testing - For the second half of today’s meeting lets pick up where we left off with our Sandbox testing.
Discussion topics
Time | Item | Presenter | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
| Courtesy Returns | All | Some campuses have notified users they can return books to any CSU. Discussed if we should create best practices for courtesy returns. Lost items will be forgiven anyway so no need to keep track. Decision to draft an email on courtesy returns with advice on how to handle non-CSU items without straps. Will advise to post these items to listserv in case they are ILls. If ILL book is returned with strap and you are not the borrower, send back to the borrower via Unity so they can process the return. |
| Libraries re-opening | All | Discussed how to make COLD aware of our issues and concerns for reopening the libraries. Mallory suggested that we work with FFC to compose a list of things that COLD reopening TF should consider. Started a brainstorming document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/11UwpDj4_GSa82xTcc1G0OOKcYegwHERw6fhCmzLIRwo/edit?usp=sharing Will touch base with FFC. |
