NACO Funnel Project Update

Israel

  • There is now a CSU NACO Funnel Project page on Confluence.

  • We’ve set up a Google form and Trello page to manage NAR requests from campuses that do not have participants in the NACO funnel project, but have a need to create a name authority record.

  • We are not yet ready to widely publicize the NAR request form just yet, but if any of the committee members have a real NAR request to make, please use the form. It can serve as a real-case test.

Item material types

Carole

  • Carole received feedback from many of the campuses on additional item material types to request from Ex Libris. She will give an update at the next TS Open Forum.

Language of cataloging problem records unlinking from the NZ

Israel

  • We had a great response to our request asking campuses to unlink their problem records. Most campuses have complied with our request. Israel reached out to the cataloging contacts at several campuses with friendly reminders.

Upcoming NZ cleanup

Israel

  • The NZ Management Group will be doing a cleanup of electronic resources records and physical resources records without inventory this week.

ULMS Survey- Resource Management

Israel

  • Israel will be filling out the ULMS survey that focuses on Resource Management. He asks that the committee members send him input. He’s sent out a call for input to the Tech Services listserv as well.

LCSH Illegal aliens heading

Carole & Israel

  • Luiz presented a proposal with three options/potential approaches to address this LCSH issue. Most in attendance were in favor of Option C. The committee concurs that this is the preferred approach. Israel will draft a recommendation to send forward to the Steering Committee.
