Updates

  1. COLD met last week and approved/accepted two of the IDTF’s recommendations :

  2. Jill spoke with the chair of the Discovery working group, Ian Chan, about collaboration and overlap. He introduced the topic last week with a focus on

    • ranking control (can we weight specific items or kind of material types more heavily?)

      • SDSU changed rank of title, no-title from the 505

      • Review’s and title rankings

    • what can we do to better influence deduplication and collocation

    • does the usage data for facets make us feel we should pay more or less attention to adding subject, genre, and resource type information in the MARC records?

  3. ERM Committee is interested in similar overlap and collaboration - stay tuned

    • suggesting a cross-unit sharing meeting on a regular basis

  4. NACO training on series authorities happened on Monday/Tuesday

    • value add to promote NAF record creation throughout the CSU’s

    • maybe we do a CSU-wide NAF hack-a-thon once a year

  5. Israel leaving CSU
