Announcements & updates

  • Alma March 2020 release

    • Adding local extensions to CZ records via an import profile

Item Material type update (Carole)

  • Draft Alma item material type glossary available for review. Carole will present at the next Tech Services Open Forum and solicit feedback.

ULMS satisfaction survey- Steering Committee priorities (Israel)

  • The committee chairs each brought two/three top priorities from their functional area.

  • From all of the priorities from all of the functional areas, the Steering Committee selected three as the first for Ex Libris to work on:

    • Being able to edit a PO Line type would be very helpful. The same with being able to edit manual packaging and acquisition method. (Acquisition)

    • Reserve stats – the current set-up makes it very difficult to get results for items that do not circulate or were never used; correlating reading list usage with courses seems to be very difficult (Fulfillment)

    • More precise match types needed in Alma advanced repository searching for all search indexes (does not equal, does not contain, etc) (Resource Management)

  • Israel submitted a case 00815713 to Ex Libris regarding more precise match types, per their request. Currently in Tier 2 Analysis.

Authority Control Task Force Update (Mark)

  • The ACTF is working toward meeting their mission/goal and examining potential authority workflows.

How-to articles (Everyone)

  • Carole created a how-to article for enabling/disabling item material types. Please review and send us your OK.

  • Israel will update the how-to article on how to relink a POL.

Alma enhancements schedule

  • Look for the enhancement requests on 3/29. Let’s plan to send out our our recommendations to the CSU Resource Management community by 4/2 or 4/3. This is a short period of time for us to review and recommend, but there are only two weeks for voting. The committee can work via email during that first week.
