CSU/ExL satisfaction survey meeting

  • Being able to edit a PO Line type would be very helpful. The same with being able to edit manual packaging and acquisition method. 

  • Reserve stats – the current set-up makes it very difficult to get results for items that do not circulate or were never used; correlating reading list usage with courses seems to be very difficult 

  • More precise "match types" needed in Alma advanced repository searching for all search indexes (does not equal, does not contain, etc.) 

 

Other Survey discussion

For the most part, Fulfillment was good in the survey, except for usefulness of Reserves Analytics

  • CSU doing a pilot program with ExL, they will help us with our pain points directly instead of putting in tickets

    • Reserves stats Inventory needed items not checked out/items checked out multiple times

    • Kelly Ann: was able to gather some stats, but had to run an in-house scan on everything to get the best info.

    • We shouldn’t have to do workarounds just to get statistics (Jamie)

§  Jaime: his stats were on NZ, IZ stats more complicated

  • Let Kevin know what questions, suggestions we have about analytics moving forward, he’ll bring it to the steering committee.

 

Open Forum

o    Open Forum date: in March 12

o    Open Forum Course Reserves topics

  • SLO will present on their Reserves process

  • A lot of questions about adding eResources to Reserves. Jamie compiled instructions, on wiki under Workflows. Remind everyone about this.

  • Working with ASI on purchasing textbooks (Christine): Northridge, Fresno works with ASI on getting textbooks. Christine said this was the first semester of the partnership for them. Purchased the books with the most used materials, over a certain price, enrollment. What info did they provide to ASI to get them on-board, other campuses may want to do the same.

  • Working with Rental books from bookstore. Only a few, How did they get the partnership with the bookstore? Kelly Ann

  • Kelly Ann: Interest in having the courses added into Alma from PeopleSoft. They get ALL the course info from it, including # of students, so they know how many students they’re serving. Her place does it, they put a link to the Course Reserves list in Moodle. They also use Leganto.

  • Marketing: DH staff actually goes to classes to let students know about the CR

  • Mallory: good idea to split these all of these topics into 2, but have the 2nd no more than one month after our current one, to not lose momentum

 

Course Reserves

o    Add link to online CR forms in the spreadsheet, Kim will do this. Reach out to institutions that don’t have online forms, see if can get screenshots, PDFs

 

Other discussion

o    CSU+ Loan rules: Christine, nothing new. There’s a Salesforce ticket in for reports not working.

o    Rapido

§  Weekly meetings with ExL.

§  New UI released sometime in 2020. Create Custom labels; more flexible rules we can create. There is just a prototype right now, but they asked CSU cmte for feedback.

§  Various search scenarios possible for the UI, not determined yet. ExL is working with CSU to get feedback.

§  Roll out still scheduled for 6-8 months

 

  • CalState WalkIn

    • SM working on changing their loan rules for this, talking about making them Internal. Kelly Ann wanted to confirm that they should be external. External is a recommendation, not a policy

    • Policy to loan our materials to a CSU Walkin vs. recommendation that allows a CSU+ walkin to make a request for a book themselves
