ItemNotes

ISPIE Reviews

    • IDS Logic presentation—similar to what Alma RS already does
    • Floating collection—mentioned at ISPIE but will be a big topic in the coming moments
      • Received with mixed feelings (?)
      • Concerns of space
      • A lot of CSUs working on weeding analyses (with GreenGlass)

ULMS Summer Training

    • Jamie (analytics) – will go over reports:
      • Overdue reserves report – can explain how to expand to any other collection
      • Usage & subject areas
      • Overdue certain amount of time and not marked lost
      • Combining multiple functional areas
    • Fulfilment analytics drop-in session will be the first session
    • Waiting to hear back from Joana regarding student training –
    • Want to do high level talk about topics that people want to hear about
      • Should we do these at open forums?
      • Keep it open to suggestions?
    • Link to sandbox: email Mallory for link at mdebartolo@calstate.edu

Open Forum Scheduling and Topics

    • 4-5 per year
    • First open forum—October 10th or 17th
    • Topics: stuff that we can continue to work on or topics that are suggested at summer training
    • Standing order: Every time we get new enhancements, try them out and display at open forums
Fulfillment configuration utility tool: can specifically target and save a lot of time searching

Alma Release Highlights

  • Awaiting shelving: instead of in place/not in place
    • Can configure some period of time
    • Maybe in August release
  • Pop up messages for patron accounts – super helpful to get attention of students/staff

Ex Libris Seminar

  • Ex Libris has offered to do a webinar for CSU employees. Maybe more than one. Brandon doesn’t want it to be a sales presentation. Nor does he want to be just a complaint session. What topics would lead to the most productive discussion and practical improvements for ULMS staff?

Course Reserves - Continuing the work from last year

  • Course Reserves - Continuing the work from last year
    • Interviewing campuses – is this still something we want to pursue?
      • Can be interesting to learn how other campuses are processing reserves
      • Analytics only showed that maybe we did not have a clear goal?
      • Another way we can go about it is have people demo what their workflows/procedures might be
      • This could be an area where we can shine a light a bit
      • How do we make Course Reserves more successful?
      • What kind of marketing strategies do we need for Course Reserves?
      • Need a new approach for this
      • Maybe we can find differences in how reserves are processed (suppressed locations, faculty copies, notes, reading lists, etc.)
        • Maybe we can demo
      • REMEMBER TO RECORD NEXT MEETING FOR RESERVE PROCESSING DEMOS
      • FFC Meeting next week moved to 2pm instead of 1pm!
Enhancement Process
  • Can be saved for another meeting!
  • Outlines how everyone made their choices

Next Meeting: 8/01/19
