We reviewed the google doc and noted that there were very few examples/suggestions on the doc as of now.
Christine encouraged all FFC members to fill in this document with specific examples/problems so that the training is personalized and useful for everyone. Without sending in examples the training would be a generic training and we wouldn't optimize the opportunity.
Christine will also send out a note to the Access Services listserv about adding specific examples to the existing document.
We also need to come up with who is going to present each topic for the CSU sessions
This should be done as soon as possible so the CSU presenters have time to prepare for their sessions
There is also going to be a Fulfillment Group Session. We need to come up with topics for this too. Here are some of the topics that we talked about earlier on that didn't make the original training sessions.
Matthew explained the new procedures for boundwiths.
The wording will be updated from "Host bibliographic records for boundwith item barcode xxxxxx" to "Multiple titles bound as a single volume with the barcode xxxxx"
This new wording will make it more clear to patrons when checking out a boundwith.
Matthew explained that the Circ staff won't have to do anything, but Tech Services will have to make a change so you might want to check with them at your institution.
Matthew will also talk about this at our upcoming Open Meeting on
June's Open Forum
ALL
Let's come up with some topics for June's Open Forum.
Potential ideas:
Boundwith
Talk about CO training and try to get more specific examples from people
Talk about the new membership for the FFC (it is supposedly going to be sent out to the whole group this Friday).
Re-loan limit (I'm planning on trying in this week, so maybe I could do a demo...if it goes well )
Cathe can demo updating user records in batch even though circ operator role cannot be done in batch because this role requires scoping.
