Planning the open meeting - Who will talk about what?

Here’s what we’ve been up to (Mallory)

    • Fine tuning configurations and procedures to make Alma resource sharing behave as expected. Still very much a work in progress.
    • Gone over policies - where do those stand? What’s the status?
    • Answering questions on slack
    • Creating guides for new workflows - those are currently in draft form and requiring review

Brief training:

Interested in learning more about the patron experience when requesting items through CSU+
  • For example: All the various cancellation notices are confusing, particularly when the item is cancelled in Alma and then ordered via ILL.
  • How can we obtain additional feedback from patrons that would help improve the CSU+ experience?
    • Have a dialogue with service point/circ desk/research assistant staff
    • In the future it would be cool to do an assessment of CSU+ services - put flags in all CSU+ loans to solicit feedback/opinions
    • Talk to the Fulfillment group in the 3/16 meeting about this
    • Sac State is doing some usability studies including CSU+. Astra will report back when they have results.
Duplicate requests
  • Competing systems cause people to request an item via two separate places because sometimes people order whatever’s easiest to click
  • What are the reasons for the duplicate requests occuring? Do patrons place a request and think they didn’t do it successfully?
  • Needs additional investigation to figure out the scope of the problem - why are duplicate requests being placed? Is it a systems-related issue? Is it confusing text on the website? Is it the device used to place the request?
Analytics
    • How can we distribute information about creating analytics reports?
    • Webinar would be good.
    • Posting instructions about how to use analytics
    • Option to email out the systemwide reports on a regular basis.
    • Stacy Caron (Unlicensed) and Carolyn Chun (Unlicensed) will work on creating more comprehensive instructions re: how to create your own analytics report and how to access the canned consortia reports
