Go VE Kickoff meeting discussion

@Gabriel Gardner (Unlicensed) , Christian Ward, @David Walker

  • Updated the group on the Go VE Kick-off meeting.

    • We don't have the button available yet because we are the first large consortia that is going through the process.

    • Ex Libris will implement the fix this weekend to add the buttons back to the IZ settings.

  • Ex Libris Timeline Highlights:

    • Authentication - David thinks that the setup we have now at campuses should transfer over. We may need to work with local campus authentication folks to make sure it's working.

    • Configuration - Gabriel briefed the group on adding the configuration tasks for the Go VE tasks. The testing plan previously developed by @Christine Holmes (Unlicensed) may need to be adjusted based on what we learn about the extent of automated processes.

VE evaluation communication/messaging planing

  • Brandon thinks it may be better for all the schools to go at once rather than a staged approach.

    • Might be best to have a few schools go through the process and make detailed notes.

    • Communicate the configuration information to the rest of the campuses.

      • What is the time commitment for configuring the VE process?

      • Documentation site

  • Reminder: we are testing the Go VE process for consortia

  • @David Walker noted that campuses may want to take the VE evaluation process as an opportunity to revisit their Primo scope configurations (i.e. are the number of current scopes necessary?)

VE Forums and/or Open Forums discussion and scheduling

  • Do we want a regular Primo VE open forum? Perhaps a by-weekly meeting to refresh everyone on the functionality in Primo and Primo VE, possible guided configuration presentations.

  • The group discussed the date/time of weekly Friday 1-2pm meetings. Sometimes there will be the open forum, sometimes we will have closed Discovery meetings and sometimes we will have open Discovery meetings.
