Bento Box UX?

Some UI issues addressed by Ex Libris (external to indexing)

Some institutions using Bento Box for results page - maybe help address issue of local vs CSU+/everywhere else. Can have clear. differentiations for local vs article vs other.

SDSU: use bento box from homepage; users use facets 70% of the time (probably from bento box format). Research project to see if this is a feature or a bug but issues with wanting to go directly to OneSearch.

LibKey discussion on ELUNA Primo listserv

Petered out at COs; now reaching out to campuses.

SDSU had it but didn’t make use of the journal search - issues with linking back to OneSearch; Chrome plugin good; never caught on so didn’t continue with it (and ExLibris brought direct linking to the Primo interface)

Couple other campuses LibKey. 2/3 cost if adopted by all campuses

• Testing was successful, but re-indexing is a time-consuming requirement

• Need to decide whether campuses complete re-indexing on their own (with directions), or request for work to be completed by CO, or wait for summer Ex Libris re-index

  • Step-by-steps on how to re-index for individual campuses

  • Do we need to stagger reindexing so there isn’t a massive systems issue
