Marching Forth
March brings us to the official beginning of Phase 2 of the ULMS project. During the course of the month, we will be providing training from the Vanguards as well as Ex Libris aiming to assist campus project managers in drafting data migration forms for your campus by the end of the month. Fresno is hosting a kickoff meeting towards the end of the month where project managers, working group leads and representatives from campus implementation teams will come together and hear details from Ex Libris and CO staff regarding the remaining stages of the project.
March dates of note:
- March 2: Vanguard-led webinar reviewing data migration forms
- March 9: Q&A session with Vanguard staff to assist with filling out forms
- March 18: Ex Libris-led migration form review for Voyager campuses
- March 21-22: Project kickoff meeting@Fresno State, Ex-Libris-led migration form review for III campuses
- March 23: First weekly call with Ex Libris, CSU project managers, will focus on migration forms
- March 30: Draft data migration forms submitted to Ex Libris
Confluence updates
The ULMS Project website is your one-stop shop for all information pertinent to the ULMS Project. Besides the archive of documentation, archived webinars and meeting notes for the working groups and general ULMS project, it now holds a new section focussed on the Test Load phase of the project. This will be kept up-to-date with timeline information, documentation specific to migration and like materials. Take a look!
As many of you have no doubt noticed, the Working Groups have been busily discussing a variety of issues, holding open webinars, and documenting much of their progress on the project website. You can always explore the various Working Group's pages for the latest meeting minutes, recordings, listserv archives, and other information.

But you can also view the site's Activity Stream to see the latest pages that have been updated across all the groups:

The Activity Stream also provides a link to an RSS feed, which you can use in Outlook or a feed reader to get alerts on all project website updates.
Primo Central Integration
David will be holding webinars in March for the new Xerxes Primo Central integration. Keep an eye out for an email on that on the Discovery and LIB-IT listservs.
Sandboxes and Vanguard instances
In case you missed it, I sent out access information for both the new sandboxes and Vanguard instances over the past three weeks. The sandboxes are now configured as a small consortia, with two institutions and a network zone instance. Updates accounts for these were sent out to this list by me on February 22.
Vanguard account information was sent to your project manager on February 15 – these contain records from Fresno, Northridge and San Jose, plus a network zone, which should be available at least until the test load begins in April.
Due to the open nature of our Confluence site, I am unable to post passwords to the project site. Please check with me if you require passwords to either, bearing in mind that your project manager and/or peers may already have that information.
Take care,
Brandon
