CSU Chico Primo UX Testing - Ryan Schwab (Unlicensed)
- Ryan Schwab (Unlicensed) presented results from Primo UX Testing at Chico
- Each test had failures for relatively straightforward and simple tasks
- Chico has put together some recommendations for improving the UX of Primo
- During testing noted most people didn't use facets. Those who did use the facets, did do better.
- Ryan Schwab (Unlicensed) will share Chico's UX Testing at next Disco Open Forum.
Develop a work plan for the Spring
- TF will compile report and send to discovery list for feedback.
- Should we offer configuration for UX improvements via JavaScript files or through Primo Back Office?
- Back Office method incurs performance hit.
- JavaScript method will require assistance for campuses where technical expertise in JavaScript editing is not available.
- The JS method is preferable because the number of campuses that will likely need assistance is small.
Review of Discovery UX Ideas
- Ryan Schwab (Unlicensed) noted that placement of Send To menu did not prevent users from finding it
- Important to gather data on each improvement
- Suggestion to use A/B testing with limited campuses for some items on the list
- Other items can be implemented as default
- Ian Chan (Unlicensed) will indicate in Discovery UX Ideas table which items might be defaults and which to implement as options. Committee will review prior to sending out to the list.
