Resource type additions

• Possible to add campus specific resource types?

  • Student works: Journal, Capstone project, Graduate project

  • Faculty publications: Journal, Abstract, Book review

  • Approved - campuses can add as needed

• Process for handling campus-specific modifications

• Formats: Samvera does extract some information; potentially could add a format field, examples? (CSUN: browse by format?)

  • Revisit extent field?

  • Resource type is a multi-valued field, so that could be a way to accommodate the format issues

  • KC: Can retain those labels for migrated data and evaluate if they need to be added to work forms

• The DAWG invites MWG to help us flesh the metadata portion of their project plan prior to sending the informal plan to David and Kevin for feedback.

  • Discipline specific subject headings vs. fast

  • pros: easy to use, cons: not applicable to disciplines in many cases

• ULMS: will be possible to include normalization in the pipe to PRIMO

• Decision: Let’s ditch fast

• Action: Revisit the discipline based

• LR: contribute to CSU statement on Subject access across our catalogs and collections
