OJS Documentation Guide is now live

Dana, Kevin, Matt, & Melissa

  • Shared with COLD Scholarly Communications Committee during August 20 meeting

  • Melissa is working on a memo to COLD regarding the campus contact list, but if you would like to be the point person for your campus, email Melissa.

  • The group decided to rename the site CSU Open Journals Guide.

20

Discuss proposed changes to the Domain, Shared Needs and Requirements, and Use Cases sections of the charter

Melissa

  • Discussed the scope of the group and confirmed that it has always been intended to encompass digital scholarship projects, rather than being exclusively focused on scholarly publishing.

  • The group decided that a definition of terms would be helpful and agreed that the charter should be less focused on particular platforms (e.g., OJS).

  • Jaime also shared a Digital Publishing Glossary that Caly Poly SLO is developing; we could potentially create a systemwide version of this.

30

Decide on deliverables for 2020-2021

Melissa

  • Continue building out OJS Documentation Guide (Dana, Matt, and Melissa)

  • LibGuides Open Review Discussion Sessions (Alyssa, Dana, Jaime, and Melissa)

  • Coordinate additional support for faculty journals (Mark, Matt, and Melissa)

  • Create systemwide documentation for Elsevier read and publish agreement (Jaime and Melissa)

  • TBD: climate change project and author documentation

  • Table a CSU-wide undergraduate journal for now

Elsevier gold open access pilot update

Melissa

  • Melissa will be preparing a memo to COLD to identify contacts for each campus, who will assist with promotion as well as administering APC waiver requests.
