ERM Task Meeting Notes November 8, 2016
ERM Task Force agenda:
-November 10th - Working Groups chairs meeting –Luiz is giving link to CO Team to share all policies including ERM.
-Shared Acquisitions Update: multiple scenarios for acquisitions, ECC and Opt-in. May have found fix for order button on ECC e-collections – invoicing seems to make that button disappear which is good.
Sending ExL various scenarios for shared acquisitions since they have to handled differently, one vendor-one database vs one vendor and multiple databases
-ACQ TF is discussing shared vendor records-affects the NZ and SDLC.
ERM TF discussed the shared vendor records and decided to leave that decision up to the Acquisition TF. There will be vendor records in the NZ for the shared ECC and Opt-in resources but no decision on whether or not those would be “pushed” from the NZ to other libraires.
-Policies-where are we?
-Asked TF to think of workflow examples for their policy so we could share that either at the January workshops or a webinar in the Spring.
-Reminded everyone of the ERM policies will be shared in the TS Open Forum on November 17th
-share ERM policies during Tech Services Open Forum- be ready for questions, if there are any.
-Discussed how the ERM NZ functions different from the physical items in the NZ. Libraries can edit NZ records in OCLC and those changes will be reflected in the NZ. ERM does not work the same. The e-collections are only available to those with access to the NZ admin, right now that is the CO.
-Decided on adding an introduction to ERM policies and introduce the 3 models to explain the differences in workflow. The 3 models are included in the introduction. Also included is to clarify the differences for managing e-resources versus physical records.
-Ideas what we want to see in January-workflow-specific example-not generic
