We found that each decision to adopt a solution (if any) should be left up to each campus.
Solutions to explore are:
Springshare hosting: using the Springshare platform to host items that are then linked into Alma as if an item from a CSU database. There are costs involved. However, this may provide campuses with an e-reserve solution that will allow them to continue as they were before. Good feedback from campuses using this as a solution.
LMS hosting: using Canvas, Moodle, etc., with the library’s reserve department possibly embedded in courses to upload scanned items. This would allow an area to host items, but may have less library oversight. Questions of copyright and responsibility remain. Many campuses should have an LMS system already in place.
Leganto: a system that is an addon to Alma. Cost factor to be considered. Some reservations from those who have some experience with it.
