ERM Post-Migration Check List

This checklist is for items and settings for e-resources that migrate from SFX.  Check if the item migrated and if it migrated correctly. Also are items that need to be set up post-migration.  List can be used by Serial Solutions libraries to check e-collection functionality. Help available in References column.  The task has a priority of ESSENTIAL, RECOMMENDED or OPTIONAL.  If there are any issues with an e-collection or tech services settings, check ERM Known Issues to see if the issue has been reported to ExL.

Please report NZ ERM issues using new NZ ERM Problem Reporting form.

Check Merged Targets migrated from SFX to e-resources in NZ. Does your library's name correctly appear in the list of libraries in the "Available for" or "Held by" label for that e-collection in the NZ?

List of Merged Targets in SFX
Check list of Merged Targets in SFX to list of shared resources in NZ.
Library name should be listed in shared resource in NZ tab- shared e-resources will NOT appear in IZ tab.

Use Query to locate shared e-resources in NZ to compare to SFX Merged List.

Check if local SFX instance e-resources migrated to the IZ.Use Alma Query to compare to local SFX instance list of targets. You can export list of targets from SFX to compare to the query in the IZ.
Essential
Do e-portfolios in merged/shared SFX targets display correctly in NZ? Check that it says "Available For [your CSU name] beneath the entry and for the facets on the left. Update SFX Link Resolver address to UResolver address with each vendorLibraries will need to contact each vendor to update their SFX link resolver address to the Alma UResolver address. There will be a temporary redirect for the SFX address. Information about the base URL and the link resolver icon needed to send to vendors. Will need access to Primo Back Office to obtain the base URL.There is a list of some of the vendors and contacts to update the base URL for the link resolver.Essential
Check to see if number of titles in the library's local SFX instance match the number of titles in the IZ e-resource. *Reminder that SFX holdings migrate a couple of weeks prior to Go-Live so numbers may be a little off for some resources but should be close. This is for select e-resource packages. The aggregators should be fairly close in total number of titles.
Recommend
Identify duplicate resources- same e-resource is active in both IZ and NZ. Decide if both should be active. See Reference column for more information. For libraries that subscribe to ECC/Opt-in and subscribe locally to titles not included in the ECC or Opt-in title lists for a particular e-resource. Both databases should appear, locally subscribed titles active in the IZ and the shared titles active in the NZ.
The number of titles should be different, usually with fewer titles in the IZ.
If it appears the shared titles are in the IZ and in the NZ, a decision will need to be made.
The first option, keep both e-resources active and change the active titles in the IZ e-resources to match the locally subscribed title list.
The IZ e-resource would only include the locally subscribed titles outside of the SDLC title list.
The other option, only keep the IZ e-resource active and ask to have the library's group settings removed from the NZ e-resource.
Option 2 NOTE: Library will no longer receive global updates made to the shared e-resource in the NZ. Updates to e-resource will need to made locally by the library as well as acquisition data maintained locally. This will also affect shared acquisitions. Library will need to maintain acquisitions data locally.
*Most often the e-resources would be Elsevier Science Direct Complete, Wiley Online Journals,
Wiley Online Journals 2014, Sage Premier, Springer Standard, ebrary Academic Complete.
*Locally subscribed titles for the same vendor will be in the IZ and the shared title list will be in the NZ. This is same set up that exists in SFX, more information can be found on the SFX wiki:http://tinyurl.com/zo7bjaa

Is "Activate new portfolios with service automatically" checked for aggregator resources? If your library changed the Auto Active settings from "INHERIT" to "YES" or "NO" in SFX, check to see if those Auto Active settings migrated to Alma. Information located in Step 3 under section titled:

Check linking from Alma:
Search for journal title, does correct e-resource appear in search results?
Does the journal link to the vendor's site?
Use Examples on ERM wiki.
Recommend
Do e-resources link to vendor site from Alma?
This is the entire e-collection test, not a specific journal title.
Check each active e-collection linking from Alma.
Each link from the e-collection from Alma should link to the vendor's site.
This is not an individual e-package (e-journal/e-book) link test, just e-resource to vendor's site. May need to set up the linking parameters in the e-collection services. Search for Library-Specific Parameters in Alma documentation more information. If you use the Linking Parameters tool in the SFX admin, you can see a list of the active L/P for each target.

Essential
Verify the P2E conversion was successful?
Search in Alma for each bibliographic record of
a physical resource in your source ILS from
the list you provided to Ex Libris, and confirm that
it has been converted to an electronic resource.
Alma provides a detailed check list for P2E, see REFERENCE column.
