  • Provide status updates on each of the items the group is working on.
  • Determine what we'd like to present at the November Open Forum.
  • Schedule meetings for November and December.

25minInternal survey

Survey Questions

Committee reviewed proposed survey questions (https://goo.gl/gjuYHy) and separated out observational items that cab be answered by a review of the CSU instances.

The group agreed that observational questions will be addressed by committee members using https://goo.gl/4Y8aQS.

  • Mike DeMars (Unlicensed) will compile answers to:
    What options do you show in the Send-to bar? In what order?
    What information do you show in the record in the top section above the Send-to bar?
    Is your default search Everything, the Catalog, or some other option?
    What do you call the Everything search?

Survey Distribution and Timeline

  • David Walker will put together a list of Primo/Alma contacts for each campus and the survey will be distributed to that group. 
  • William Jacobs (Unlicensed) will draft survey announcement email
  • Ian Chan (Unlicensed) will create Google Form for survey
  • Survey will be distributed on 30 Oct 2017   and
  • will close on 10 Nov 2017  


15minExternal (non-CSU) Environmental scan

Criteria for the scan will parallel that used for CSU survey/observational scan. May need to add some other criteria if we discover additional functionality/UX to emulate.

The committee discussed how to select institutions to review.  https://el-una.org/working-groups/primo/primo-sites/ and committee knowledge of where development is taking place would help with putting the list.

Once institutions list is finalized, list will be divvied up amongst committee members.

  • Committee will aim to finalize institutions list and criteria by 01 Nov 2017  .

Goals are to work on missing features and improve weak spots. Examples include problem reporting forms for Primo and using SMS for sending call number information.

The group shared several examples of link resolver problem reporting forms.

The committee agreed to use the existing Github space at https://github.com/CSU-ULMS to facilitate development work and idea sharing.
