Getting Started

Inserting a person (entity) that will be linked to a citation.

  1. Click on the "Repositorians" collection (http://ec2-54-84-56-6.compute-1.amazonaws.com/islandora/object/islandora%3Aentities)
  2. Click the "Manage" tab
  3. Click "Add an object to this Collection"
  4. To add a new person select "Islandora Person Content Model" from the drop down and click "Next"
  5. Select "Scholar MADS form" and click "Next"
  6. Fill out the form as complete as possible. The most important fields are "Display Name", "Department", "Research Interests" and "identifier" - these are used when viewing the person and their citations. The identifier field needs to be unique - so we will need to define a structure for this across the CSU.
  7.  Click "Next"
  8. You can upload a thumbnail if you wish.
  9. Click "Ingest"
  10. NOTE: It is likely that the initial view will have an error message about SOLR. This is because the view was presented faster then the ingestion into SOLR happens. If you refresh the screen, everything should be fine.

Inserting a citation

  1. Click on the "CSU Citations" collection (http://ec2-54-84-56-6.compute-1.amazonaws.com/islandora/object/islandora%3Acitations)
  2. Click the "Manage" tab
  3. Click "Add an object to this Collection"
  4. Select Citation or Thesis
  5. Click "Next"
  6. Fill out the citation content as completely as possible.
  7. In the "Qualified Name" field, this is where the citation is linked to the person created above. Start typing the name or id and the field should auto populate (possibly with a selection list if there are several matches) and select the correct one. This index links citations and entities.
  8. You can include a PDF with the citation.
  9. Click "Ingest"
  10. If you go back and review the user(s) you linked the citation to, you will see it listed under "Recent citations".
