• Principle:

  • Is the content produced institutionally?

  • Does it have a scholarly nature?

• Fair number of institutional or administrative documents in DSpace today that would now fall into the digital archives and collections service.

• Digital archives have a greater need for long-term preservation

• There will always be content that falls into gray areas.

  • Some scholarly content may be produced outside the institution

  • ETDs will often include supplementary materials like video, images, maps. etc.

• Governance group can provide refinement and long-term decsions
