Tech Services Electronic Resources Best Practices

(Outline was used to complete best practices and procedures for ERM)


  1. Electronic resources selection and activation (separate into two separate documents) -Shared resources also separate document

    1. Choosing e-collection that matches vendor subscription

    2. Activating the new e-collection

      1. Update e-collection with vendor title lists

      2. Service settings

        1. Each CSU is responsible for SFX L/P for possible manual L/P

      3. Proxy settings

        1. Migration and Proxy Configuration post-migration

        1. you can set up the CrossRef credentials under General Configuration > Integration Profiles > Add Integration Profile.  You create a new Integration Profile with the Integration Type “Resolver Augmentation

    3. Public Service name -what label should be used for Full Text Available service label - appears in Primo but set up in Alma

  5. Troubleshooting linking issues (combine with #4 and #3)

    1. Include some basic tips for troubleshooting errors-bad links/bad citations/incorrect metadata
