 Discussion Items

A. Top 5 Priorities: Feedback received

The top 5 priorities submitted to Brandon Dudley generated a lot of feedback as well as many good questions from the broader TS community.  As Brandon suggested, the Leads may form task forces to work on documentation, so that more folks can participate in the conversation and discussions.  Questions/suggestions received will be reviewed to identify potential areas to be addressed in an FAQ to be posted on Confluence.  Open forums (webinars) were also suggested. TS Leads will host open forums for discussion of recommendations and to gather feedback.

The “Top 5 priorities” document will be uploaded to Confluence.

B. Conference Call with Orbis Technical Services Experts

The conference call with Orbis experts was very helpful.   A call with the ERM expert, who was unavailable, will be scheduled

C. Working Documents

  • “CSU Migration of Local Bibliographic Data to Alma Local Extensions to Bibliographic Records” [Draft]

The Group discussed at length the draft document. Question arose about how much (if any) automated work Ex Libris is able to do in support of migrating local data, as proposed in the document. This would provide support to those campuses needing assistance with local data migration to Alma. Question will be reported to Brandon Dudley. This draft will be distributed to TS Working Group and an open forum will be held on Monday, Feb. 15 at 2:00 p.m., to gather further feedback from TS Working Group.

  • “Populating the Network Zone and Defining the Master Record” [Draft]

The draft has been finalized and will be distributed, pending confirmation from Ex Libris about options proposed.

  • Top 5 Priorities (Identification & Distribution of Tasks)

Group Leads should review the list of “Top 5 priorities” by Friday, February 12, and identify tasks to be accomplished (e.g., select issues, areas that need to be addressed).

Next Meeting  February 22 (4th Monday)
