Status Report 2/21

At this time the working group has made good progress in its work on normalization and continues to refine Primo results and interface with continued work in this area with help from Technical Services. We hope this work will be completed by the 4/1/2017 renorm. The group has sent 2 requests for the upcoming boosting/FRBR training to improve FRBR display and de-emphasize less relevant content such as Reference Entries. Additional training from EL and the CSU on Primo Back Office processes and procedures is under review. The group continues to work with EL on outstanding UI issues, including FRBR, boosting, search result issues, etc. The late delivery of Primo has pushed out Discovery's deadlines but regular progress is now being made. Progress will increase as UX testing begins to inform our configuration decisions and our task forces can meet reguarly. A better understanding of how to access and utilize the Primo sandbox should also improve progress.

Normalization

• EL has now handed off normalization rules to the working group but will walk us through changes in the next round. We continue work on the following:
• Resource Type facet mapping and labels (ebook/book should be working normally now)
• 245 $c - Statement of Responsibility
  • We have brief and full results configs approved by TS waiting for 3/1 renorm
• 245 $h
  • Working on adding back in punctuation between 245 $a and $b when $h is present but suppressed, should be resolved by 3/1 renorm
• Book/eBook split should be working normally for all campuses at this point

Development

• Using https://github.com/CSU-ULMS
• CSU JS/Angular group up and running as 3rd party integration group
  • Working on Location mapping for Primo, expected completion 3/2017
  • Priorities established, see Task Force page

UX Testing

• 1st round of UX testing done, group will share at next Discovery open meeting
  
  • Need to set up best practices document with testing results

Primo Training

• Currently running set of EL Functional Calls for Primo
  
  • Sandboxes - URLs and instructions on access and pushing to production have been shared with all campuses.

• Considering a set of additional webinars to practice working in the BO, given by CSU

Alignment

• Alignment of Primo production to sandboxes was completed 2/16.

Need to actively adopt the Trello normalization and boosting request boards

After Pipes training, determine what pipe work will be done at CSU/local. Then begin work on harvesting and normalization for:

• IR
• ContentDM
• DSpace (Fedora)
• Digital Commons

Waiting on EL for responses to issues:

• Post-FRBR click searching not containing Alma result
• Library location name and erroneous results in location facet
