0915 | Publishing Interest Group Update | @Melissa Seelye (Unlicensed) @Jaime Ding (Unlicensed) @Dana Ospina @Mark Stover (Unlicensed) | Key goals for 20/21 are first, increasing capacity for CSU publishing, particularly OA, and second, the LibGuides open review process. Publishing focus is primarily but not exclusively journals. Melissa Seelye (SFSU) addressed publishing. While there is interest on several campuses in launching a CSU-wide journal, PIG needs to build infrastructure before that can happen. CSU publishing platform requires effort. PIG has asked COLD to help identify campus contacts. Jaime Ding (Cal Poly) addressed Libguides Open Review. EDI central to this initiative. Interrogating the review process and placing criticality at the heart of what library workers do. |

1000 | CSU, UC & SCELC Collaboration | @Amy Kautzman | UC presented a powerful partnership in negotiations. Also had conversations with SCELC. These are active and ongoing partnerships. Rick Burke (SCELC) and Ivy Anderson (UC) are planning to retire in 2021. Need a strategic approach to OA. Amy proposes a subcommittee. Conversation continued around the focus of the subcommittee and what committee(s) it might come from. Will need to establish clear objectives and meet with the provosts to get them on board. Amy will circle back to COLD with a draft proposal. |

1040 | Digital Textbook Access Alternatives | @Jen Fabbi (Unlicensed) Leslie Kennedy | Leslie: Vitalsource not available at some campuses due to Follett contracts. Mark: Discussed BibliU cost model. It’s more of a “simultaneous use” model, ca. 10 sim use per license. Conversation centered on the cost-effectiveness of this model compared to vouchers. |
