Description | Activity SummaryThe Acquisitions Task Force made progress on the following goals. Progress on goals:Recommendations for next steps for setting up Gobi API have been posted and shared. A reminder was sent to the Technical Services Listserv to encourage ALL YBP users (whether or not they plan to implement the GobiAPI) to contact their YBP reps asap to being setup work to convert services to Alma. It was determined that there will be no central funding provided at this time to support campus GobiAPI subscriptions, but that the SDLC will centrally manage GobiAPI subscriptions for the individual campus opt-in price of $1768/campus (which is discounted over YBP's regular price for the GobiAPI service.) If interested, please contact Terri Joiner at SDLC and cc Brandon Dudley. The draft page posted on the wiki continues to be updated, and includes links and info about paying sales and use tax in Alma, and suggests possible tax scenarios and ways to process them. (in progress, more scenarios are being developed) The Acq TF has added reminders and some additional links to the integrations wiki. David Walker was able to transform and deliver the transformed Alma invoice file to the appropriate SJSU CFS server location. We have contacted campus stakeholders to review file for necessary elements and formatting. Continue to research and review Acq policies and guidelines. The Acq TF is fine-tuning various process recommendations and collaborating with the other task forces as appropriate. Alma Advantages in Acquisitions In the course of the task force's work, we've come across a few positive talking points that can be shared with colleagues to help highlight some positive aspects of moving to Alma. For this update, our source was Devin Pate and his acquisitions co-workers, University of Texas: Losing the spreadsheets: "Ultimately Alma will allow you to get rid of tracking your information through spreadsheets. You can normally find a spot for your information in Alma." Fund Structure: "Very simple to setup and assign." Rollover: "Was very simple. Took us about forty-five minutes to complete (excluding watching the training presentation)." |
