Description | Activity SummaryThe Acquisitions Task Force held a WebEx meeting on Feb. 1, 2017. Our agenda included the following:
The group collaborated frequently to make progress on our goals as shown below. Goals & Status Reports:GobiAPI demo New functionality/info with the GobiAPI:
In light of new info, we are seeking other presenters already using the GobiAPI to demo all features of the process for the CSU group. We have confirmed that libraries now using the Gobi EOCR service will no longer need that subscription if they decide to implement the API, thereby offsetting some of the GobiAPI subscription expense. YBP is offering a 15% discount to all CSUs who subscribe to the GobiAPI (offer valid through June 2017.) Our GobiAPI demo has been delayed a few weeks to incorporate new information and additional presenters. Northridge and San Jose have stated they will be implementing the GobiAPI for at least a year, and will then evaluate its effectiveness. Q&A on SLACK During a Tech Services open forum, we again promoted Slack as an option for quick or very specific questions that may not be ideal for the listservs, and that Acquisitions Task Force members will be monitoring the Acq channel for questions and comments. Tax scenarios Specific scenarios have not yet been developed or posted; still researching. Information, suggestions and examples for development of a fund structure in Alma have been posted at Funds & Ledgers in Alma Acq Integrations We've begun identifying processes related to major, commonly used CSU Acq integrations such as Ebsco for serials management. There is an Ebsco rep who has been assigned to the CSU integration, and information is being disseminated to the campuses. Wiki pages are under construction to provide contact and set-up information for these integrations. Collaborate with the Import Profiles Task Force We've communicated with Marcus Jun regarding import profile match points for YBP; follow-up work to be determined. Once import profile configurations are identified, we will link to solutions on the Acq wiki as appropriate. Acq-CFS process Ian Chan has developed a conversion script that is ready for initial testing. San Jose is working with David Walker to export invoices from the Alma test instance and test them in the script. Logistics for the path of invoice files are still being worked out. Technical Freeze The task force has begun discussions identifying appropriate Technical Freeze tasks. Libraries have begun discussing them locally as well; this group will solicit ideas for those activities in the Acq area and will post as made available to a page currently under construction. Readiness Acq checklist for Go-Live Work on an Acq checklist was started last fall by the task force Continue to research and review Acq policies and guidelines. Ongoing. |
