Article Expiration and Download Limit

In Rapido you can limit the number of times a patron can download an article and set it to expire after a set number of days. The number of days is not obvious to the patron in their library account, but the number of downloads is listed. Unfortunately, the number of remaining downloads is not listed.

Configuration

To configure the expiration time period and number of downloads go to Alma Configuration → Fulfillment → General → Other Settings. You will be able to set the limits in the following parameters:

  • borrower_document_delivery_maximum_views

  • document_delivery_cleanup_days

By setting the maximum views very high you can allow the patron to practically download the item as many times as they need within the specified number of days. For example, you can set the maximum views to 99 and the cleanup days (expiration) to 30 days and the patron will basically be able to access the article as many times as they need for 30 days and then the article will no longer be accessible.
