12/2 COLD One-minute updates

  1. Chico - bringing in dean candidates; campus has found money for new carpeting, lights, radios, HVAC, shutting upper floor 

  2. CSUSM - staff member passed away during a Zoom meeting - brings up issue of emergencies 

  3. Adriana - got the remaining funds for completing architectural work 

  4. SFSU - 50% in person classes in the spring

  5. CSUF: Fauclty noontime talks

  6. CSUB: Associate Dean title change 

  7. CSUCI: Programs on black scholars and black lives - picking up steam this year

  8. DH: gearing up to 80% on-site, full in-person enterprise, concluded DEI audit; working with consultant on a rubric on our policies -- in the library, our hours have been only til 7, open 12 -2

  9. Fresno  - Henry Madden name issue, working closely with Archives on this issue; classes are coming up in the spring and go through the collection 

  10. Humboldt: getting an enomatioege 

  11. CSULB: got the library included in an initiative that was initially just for “academic colleges” 

  12. CSULA - Center for Student Success, Center for Faculty Excellence, Student Technoloyg and Innovation Center

  13. CSUEB - Moving into new building

  14. CSUMB - working w UPD on late hours - applying to campus funds

  15. CSUN - surviving the pandemic, land acknowledgment; creating large mural 

  16. SSU update: Library’s Systemic Racism Response Committee holding second summit, this time on preferred pronouns

  17. CSUS: got four or five recruitments going, got a makerspace hire -- 5k sqf makerspace -- lost our provost -- went to SJSU - interim provost 

  18. CSUSB - going through largest number of new hires 

  19. New SJSU president coming in December, 5 TT faculty searches launching in early 2022, looking for suggestions/examples of how others have developed library chair positions.
