Digital Repositories Annual Meeting Update

• Call for proposals: send out ASAP; shorter turnaround;

• Details:

  • Venue: San Marcos

    • June 18 DATE SET; one day hybrid

    • fees (direct transfer to SM), $30-35/person est. (parking fees too) in-person

    • cap at 45 attendees in-person; no online cap;

  • QUESTION: speakers from other campuses nearby; interested in opening up for outside CSU? Keynotes?, etc. (no funds for honoraria…)

    • CSU speakers, etc.

    • CDL:

    • Keynotes: can attract a good audience; improve the schedule;

    • Names and topics to Carmen;

    • Single track program;

• DAWG: CSU Archives documentation; 5 teams collaborating on CSU archives participation; tutorials; preservation management; etc. adding support pages to the Confluence site; developing policies/guidelines, etc.

Collaborative metadata cleanup

• simple metadata clean-ups needed from some campuses

  • some campuses lagging; staffing and expertise issues; solution: to pair up, but also take it on and finish it;

  • buddy systems are useful for learning the work but not useful if the bandwidth for the work isn’t there…

  • automation?

  • Using open forums to announce blanket changes, etc.
