This is a DRAFT charter to be submitted to STIM for approval.

Note: All of the content below should be considered in DRAFT. This can be finalized prior to STIM approval or as the first task of the IG.

Domain

Several CSU institutions have expressed interest creating journals through establishing a centrally supported journal publishing platform. Additionally, some institutions are already publishing through locally maintained or hosted platforms. This interest group aims to identify the best tool(s) to offer, best-practices for publishing workflows, and a roadmap for both getting a new journal off the ground and migrate existing journals to a new platform when necessary.

Shared Needs and Requirement

Interest group participants should have some experience setting up a journal, be in the process of setting up a journal, or in the initial phases of investigating publishing.

Use Cases

Setting up a new journal

Moving an existing journal from one platform to another (or from one campus to another)

Defining publishing roles
