Background

The manner in which records are suppressed can affect collection analysis, statistics and may affect discovery in Primo.This policy addresses methods to minimize the impact of bib suppression on the aboverecommends two methods for suppression of records.

Policy Statement

In a shared network environment, CSU libraries should have the option to (1) suppress records at the holdings level only, not bibliographic level or (2) at the bibliographic holdings level . Holdings-level suppression only. Either option is acceptable and does not adversely affect collection analysis and statistics, but achieves the same ends.Once implementation is complete, this policy should be revisited.

Libraries should evaluate impact of option (1) to their workflows and ensure bibliographic records are unsuppressed, as appropriate.
