  • Some archived requests might have been implemented through other processes (Idea Exchange or Ex Libris providing them outside of the enhancement process). Others might no longer be needed as institutions become more familiar with Alma and create acceptable workarounds. Please do your best to verify that an enhancement is still needed before re-submitting it as that will make the rest of the enhancement cycle go more smoothly.

  • Before submitting a request, search NERS to see if it has already been submitted. This will help make the de-duping process less onerous.

  • Each request includes a field for submitter email.  This email is needed so that the Alma PWG and Ex Libris can contact you with questions, to request revisions, and (for the requests that make it through the first round) talk through details related to pointing and implementation.

    • Please do not just provide your general institutional or department email as this makes it difficult to find a contact person when needed.

  • Product module/category should be chosen based on where the enhancement being requested appears in the system, not on which department’s staff are requesting the enhancement.  Part of the Alma PWG vetting of requests is to move things to different categories as needed but we do not catch them all, so again please just do your best to identify the appropriate category.

  • If you have submitted something to the Idea Exchange, consider submitting it also to NERS.

  • NERS requests may include attachments. Please consider attaching screenshots, workflows, and other documents that may add to your explanation of the proposed enhancement.

  • If you submit an Archived or Idea Exchange request that was originally submitted by another institution, please be prepared to be the contact for the new request. This means understanding the details of the request enough to be able to fill the contact role as described above.
