Registry Rollout

All

How/when to launch registry invitations?

  • Add registry link to ScholarWorks/Project Communication

  • Compose and distribute email to initial points of contact, requesting that those responsible for IRs and Digital Collections/Archives, fill-out the corresponding registry with the email addresses of personnel assigned to the various areas of responsibility. This will generate inter-campus email lists for each area.

  • Target for initial distribution, February 14th.

  • Review registry for completeness and follow up in early March.

Communication protocol

Steve, All

Communication with campus personnel:

  • Registry will include a question for the heads of IRs and Digital Collections/Archives as to whether it is preferred they be copied on all communications between DAWG and the inter-campus area email lists.

  • When information/data is needed in one or more areas, brief questionnaires may be deployed and initiated through the area email lists. This will be used to inform DAMS development decisions.

1:27

Digital preservation assessment

Erik, All

Open discussion on states of preservation workflows and gathering campus data.

  • One area of interest as indicated by data gathered from our last survey, was interest in the level of support the shared DAMS can offer those interested in using it for digital preservation.

  • Beyond workflows, we will need to know storage/cost limitations introduced by the preservation of large archival preservation files.

  • This topic could be investigated across the system in advance of actual DAMS testing for digital collections.

1:43

Planning assessment of DAMS for Digital Archives

All

Digital collections sandbox to test DAMS ingests, performance, look, and feel, etc:

  • Three locations (Northridge, Pomona, Channel Islands) are being sought to install a local sandbox for Digital Collections testing in order to be ready to move forward with CO personnel once IRs are sufficiently developed.

  • Rubric design for DAMS assessment will be modeled in part from existing corporate rubrics.

  • The functional requirements report will inform the scope of the assessment.
