Opt-in resources need to have new orders created in Alma using the NZ e-collections in order for libraries to have access to the license information set up by CO staff and benefit from automatic price updates during the renewal process. A library's exact ordering procedure depends on multiple factors.

Whether or not...

  1. orders were migrated into Alma
  2. you want to make opt-in collection-level records discoverable in Primo
  3. you want local e-collections in your IZ
  4. you have one order for a single e-collection OR you have one order for multiple e-collections (aka. a package scenario like IEEE or Gale Access)

A campus' decisions regarding the above issues will determine what steps you need to take. The procedures below outline various options for ordering.

The basic procedures outline how to order an opt-in resource when you have one order for one e-collection.

The multi procedures outline three options for ordering when you have a single price being paid (ie. it is not broken down by e-collection) for multiple e-collections.

Within each of these procedures, there are options to attach migrated orders to your new order, add local e-collections, and make the e-collections discoverable should your library wish to do these things. Libraries are encouraged to take these procedures and edit/remove sections as needed to create their own localized procedures.
