Implementation Mode Display Logic Rules

While in Implementation Mode you may want the following Display Logic Rules:

Stop Digital Requests

While testing you will want to disable this rule to allow article and book chapter requests, but it is important to use this rule when you are not testing to prevent patrons from placing article requests in CSU+.

Go to Configuration > Fulfillment > Discovery Interface Display Logic > Display Logic Rules and add the following rule:

  • Hide service Resource Sharing Request with Resource Sharing System = Alma if exists service General Electronic Service with Service = (ILLiad articles GES rule)

Most libraries have a General Electronic Services rule for an ILLiad articles link and the above Display Logic Rule will interact with the GES. Since GES and Display Logic is often unique to each campus please feel free to contact me for questions, or I can set it up for your campus if you want. Contact me, Chris Lee, at cwlee@calstate.edu.

Go Live Display Logic

After go live the Display Logic and General Electronic Service rules can be simplified. The following rules can help you achieve commonly asked for results.

Hide Rapido Physical Request

Many libraries will want to hide Rapido requests for items they have available on the shelf. There are multiple ways this can be achieved with slightly different results. To hide the physical Rapido request and the digital request simultaneously use the following rule:

  • Hide service Resource Sharing Request with Availability by the institution = true

If you want to hide the physical request button but allow the ability to request a scan of a single chapter or article from the book use the following rule instead:

  • Hide service Rapido Physical Offer with Availability by the institution = true

  • No labels
