DAMS Self Evaluation Toolkit Update

• Beth reported that this is still in-process. Will complete and distribute to group in advance of our November 2021 meeting

• Completed Data Sheets will be included with a Summary of Findings

• Forward onto DRC when completed

CSUSM Samvera Instance Testing

• Timeline: Fall 2021

• Apply DAMS Evaluation Tool to testing CSUSM Samvera Instance

• Each of us can use DAMS Eval Tool to test platform completely (Backend & Frontend evaluation)

• Group members that would like to test reach out to Ian Chan (CSUSM) for Admin privileges

• Coordinate approach/consolidate notes here, Samvera/Hyrax testing notes

• Keep an eye toward any issues with or improvements needed on the Forms

Metadata Working Group

• MWG has two co-chairs: 1 for IR and 1 for DAMS

• Nicole will be co-chair assigned to DAMS

• Work will begin on DAMS metadata scheme/approach in early 2022

• Will coordinate work with DAWG as needed

JSTOR Community Collections

• https://about.jstor.org/whats-in-jstor/open-community-collections/

• Inviting institutions to make their already digitized, openly available, text and/or image collections discoverable on the JSTOR platform for no fees. These collections can be published to JSTOR via JSTOR Forum or we can work with institutions to harvest the content and metadata from their existing repositories (e.g. CONTENTdm, DSpace, Digital Commons, Recollect, etc.). During that time, we will be working with institutions to build a set of services (preservation, metadata enhancement/enrichment, text and data mining, impact measurement, etc.) that libraries are prepared to help define, build, and eventually pay for beginning in January 2022.
