  • ULMS Summer Meeting August 13-14

    • Over 125 staff and faculty attended two-day event

    • Day 1 was dedicated to Analytics, Day 2 to other functional areas

    • All presentations and discussions were recorded.

    • Overall feedback has been very positive

Analytics

Working Group

  • Working on creating documentation to help promote COUNTER/SUSHI stat gathering throughout the campuses

    • Evaluating how COUNTER v5 will affect gathering - will update folks in Dec at a TS Open Forum

    • Gathering SUSHI login/credentials with Ying to create a central repository of login information

  • Evaluating Ex Libris’ Benchmark statistics options in Alma. Question is: Should all CSU campuses opt in to this?

    • Might facilitate cross CSU comparison

    • Feeling of committee is this should be a local decision but probably of interest to the Deans

    • Looking into whether anyone has turned this on in the CSU, other consortia

  • Task Forces looking to expand going beyond data gathering & visualization into assessment (e.g. impact of instruction on use of OneSearch)?

    • Data viz TF has presented a Dean’s Dashboard mockup

    • Collection Development Dashboard is next on the list - Requests for a finished product but little detail. Will need to determine what specific reports are desired before proceeding to a dashboard.

  • Day 1 of the Summer Meeting was devoted to Alma analytics. Full day of presentations by Megan Drake of Ex Libris with open hours at the end of the day staffed by representatives of the Analytics WG. Recordings of the presentations are available on Confluence.

  • The committee plans to create further training opportunities, especially for Network Zone Analytics.

Resource Management

Chancellor’s Office

  • ULMS Summer Meeting successfully completed. RM sessions had lively discussions and we learned from each other.

  • Data corruption in OCLC Worldcat records resulted in Marc records with invalid diacritics: .

    • OCLC is aware of the issue and working to address

    • If you come across these records, report problem to OCLC

    • Using Alma indication rule in Daily OCLC load to exclude these problematic records from NZ

    • Shared with Alma list because it affects all OCLC customers

  • Created documentation on how to reconcile an electronic collection in Alma based on title lists provided by the vendor/access provider.

  • Ongoing maintenance of Jstor DDA collection to ensure that inaccessible titles are removed from Alma/Primo

  • Preparing to import Marc records for O'reilly ebooks

Working Group
