Project Update 6/20/17

All –

Today’s project update will cover general project status as well as updates on course reserves and resource sharing.

* Project Status *

As of this afternoon, all of the Group 1 & and but one of group 2 libraries are live in Alma and Primo. That brings us up to 15 CSU libraries live in Alma with the 16^th coming along shortly.

Group 3 libraries have had their Alma data delivered to them for checking. These libraries will accept their Alma data by the end of the day tomorrow (Wednesday,  June 21) in preparation for Fulfillment freeze starting before Sunday morning, June 25.

A couple of notes:

First, if you’d like to use this in production, please send David a header, footer, and a link to a CSS file on your server.

Second, the migrated course data is a bit messy.

The data that Sarina migrated looks pretty good, although the course name and instructor were necessarily migrated as note fields.  I’m displaying those notes (e.g., Northridge, East Bay) until campuses can properly add instructors and normalized course data to the records (e.g., Sacramento).

The course readings data that Ex Libris migrated, unfortunately, is not properly showing via the API.  We have a case filed with ExL about this, but exploring some other option.  Until then, I’m afraid the course page above cannot show any readings for the course.

If your page is blank, it’s likely because you have no course data.

Finally, the course page updates every 30 minutes at the top and bottom of the hour.  When a user selects the course, that page fetches the data real-time, so the reading list themselves are up-to-date.

In this session we will be placing requests that will actually go through the courier system and to be completed later. (Step by step processing. )
