Ex Libris' documentation on Sharing Vendor Information in a Network Zone.
There are a number of vendors common to all of the CSU libraries. “Global information about vendors, such as the vendor's name, code, and address, can be shared between member institutions in a Network Zone. This alleviates the need for each member institution to add this basic information.” The CSU vision encompasses more consortial activities creating and maintaining a shared vendor file in the NZ encourages and enables shared acquisitions.
Some of the questions needing to be addressed:
Where or to what should this policy be applied?
Identify specific practices that can be applied across the CSU to all Alma instances. Why are these practices preferred over others? If the reader needs to make decisions provide guidelines for how a user can effectively evaluate options?
Detailed procedures are only necessary when other documentation is unavailable. Link to existing procedural documentation if it adequately demonstrates practice. If there is a need to indicate specific data input in order to obtain the desired result list as a procedure?
